To get the most out of supplemental UVB light, it should come on for a short time in the middle of the light cycle ... and increased gradually so that at peak, your plants are receiving a couple of hours of UVB. IR when used with far red, should be used right at lights on and right after lights off (google Emerson effect).
Reflector: Built inside the lamp. No external reflector needed. UVA/B: 5x the power of the SG-1 and Universal UV. About 20 to 50x the power of reptile lights. UVA/B rating: Equivalent to a 30% UVB lamp, but we do this in very different frequencies, so they don't equate. Life: 1000 hours at 70% of original power.

Dec 19, 2021. #1. Ok growers here's my question. I know adding UVA/UVB help with potency during the last few weeks of flower. What I have read and looked into UVA/UVB only needs to be on for a few hour typically in the middle of the day or light cycle. So I guess my question is do you guys have a specific type light you use or recommend?
Lets figure out how to boost you up a bit. Yes, UVB can, when used correctly, improve trichome production as the plant tries to grow its own sunscreen. Truly tho, UVB can be harmful and dangerous, and would not be my go to next move. There is probably a group of other low hanging fruit that should be attempted first.

Besides the colors and beauty it adds it is also supposed to increase potency by stimulating more resin production to protect from the uv radiation.
UVB is the light that triggers an increase in terpene/oil production. It also has some antimicrobial properties against pm/mold and some insects. Unfortunately, most manufacturers are not offering lights with UVB. Only a few companies are selling UVB fixtures for cannabis.
I was sitting around with my mind wandering and the topic of UVB and Trichome production came to mind. I know there are studies that show that UVB increases Trichome production and by that route, increased potency. My question is regarding indoor VS outdoor plants. By the UVB theory, outdoors plants, grown under the full spectrum (including UVA ...
Mar 2, 2022. #2. Solacure makes a UVA/B bulb that goes down to 280nm. Its the line between UVB and UVC.. Its called the flower Power. Bugs also dont like 280nm of UVB. The sun only has 5% UVB. This bulb has 10%, and is extremely powerful from 280nm-300. I does also supply UVA at the same percentage of the sun.
