John Joseph Theodore Rzeznik (/ ˈ r ɛ z n ɪ k /; born December 5, 1965) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer.He is best known as the guitarist and frontman of the rock band Goo Goo Dolls, with whom he has recorded several chart-topping hits, including "Iris", "Slide", and "Name".
In 1986, [3] they changed their name to the more promotable "Goo Goo Dolls", and after three albums moved Rzeznik to the majority of lead vocals. In late 1994, Takac and Rzeznik fired Tutuska and in early 1995 hired Mike Malinin as a replacement. Later that year they received their first commercial success with the single "Name".
While there, Malinin played in the band Caulk, and recorded their first EP with them before leaving the band. Afterwards, Malinin moved to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time. [1] From December 1994 until December 27, 2013, Malinin played drums for the Goo Goo Dolls. [2] From 2016 to 2023, Malinin served as drummer for Tanya Tucker. [3] [4]
Dizzy Up the Girl is the sixth studio album by American rock band the Goo Goo Dolls, released on September 22, 1998, through Warner Bros.
