Thiel Gallery Western gallery. The Thiel Gallery [1] (Swedish: Thielska galleriet) is an art museum in the Djurgården park area of Stockholm, Sweden.Represented are the members of the Artists Association (Konstnärsförbundet) from the early 1900s as well as one of the world's largest collections of works by Edvard Munch.
Thiel studied history of art from 1978 to 1982 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, and then went to the Städelschule in Frankfurt from 1983 to 1985. There he studied sculpture under Michael Croissant [ de ] .
He was also influenced by Japanese art, for example in his Goldfinches, painted in 1889. [1] Goldfinches (1889) Collections of his art are on display at the Nationalmuseum, Gothenburg Museum of Art, Thiel Gallery and Uppsala University.
