Louisiana Tech University (Louisiana Tech, La. Tech, or simply Tech) is a public research university in Ruston, Louisiana, United States. It is part of the University of Louisiana System and classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".
Louisiana Tech is one of the few women's basketball programs to win at least 1,000 games, and have they have made 27 total appearances in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. The Louisiana Tech eco-car team was first organized during the 2007-08 academic year. The student team designs innovative fuel-efficient vehicles to compete in the Shell Eco-marathon Americas annual competition in Houston. In 2010, the Louisiana Tech eco-car team won the Urban Concept Design competition and the Urban Concept Team Spirit Award.
Louisiana Tech plays home games at Joe Aillet Stadium, which has garnered the nickname The Joe. The stadium is located on the campus of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. Led by quarterback Terry Bradshaw, the Bulldogs christened Louisiana Tech Stadium with a 35–7 victory over East Carolina on September 28, 1968.

Hoop Troop is the official basketball pep band at Louisiana Tech University. The Hoop Troop performs at most men's basketball home games and travels to select road basketball games. The band also usually travels to all post-season games played by the Bulldogs, and is known nationally as one of the best basketball bands in college basketball.
The Louisiana Tech University Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1984 to honor student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and benefactors who have been highly successful at Louisiana Tech and who have distinguished themselves professionally. [1]
