One Day is a British romantic drama limited series based on the 2009 novel by David Nicholls as well as the 2011 film adaptation.It follows the 14-year relationship of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew, who meet at a graduation ball after graduating from the University of Edinburgh, and stars Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall in the lead roles.
Emma goes to Paris in the hope of writing a sequel to her first successful children's novel. Visiting Emma in Paris, Dexter learns that she has met someone else, and for the first time admits his feelings to her. Emma chooses Dexter. Emma and Dexter marry. Emma wants a child, and they are frustrated by their failed attempts to conceive.
On 15 July 2000, Emma and Dexter attend the wedding of mutual friends. Dexter receives a job offer from Callum, his old roommate who has become very wealthy. Emma tells Dexter she has received a book deal, and he reveals that he and Sylvie are to be married, as he will soon be a father. Dexter and Emma rekindle their friendship.
