I think you completely fail to understand how 3D acceleration is implemented in virtual machines. You prove Hyper-V's implementation is different from VirtualBox' or VMWare's (it is not). —Ruud 18:09, 21 February 2011 (UTC) I know how it works. Hyper-V however is unable to provide acceleration locally, thus it can't be counted.

Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) is a free and open-source virtualization module in the Linux kernel that allows the kernel to function as a hypervisor. It was merged into the mainline Linux kernel in version 2.6.20, which was released on February 5, 2007. [1] KVM requires a processor with hardware virtualization extensions, such as Intel VT ...

  7. Virtual machine - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_machine

The nature of a nested guest virtual machine does not need to be homogeneous with its host virtual machine; for example, application virtualization can be deployed within a virtual machine created by using hardware virtualization. [22] Nested virtualization becomes more necessary as widespread operating systems gain built-in hypervisor ...
