Joseph V. Sakran is an American trauma surgeon, public health researcher, gun control advocate and activist. Sakran was shot in the throat at the age of 17. [1] He is currently an associate professor of surgery at the Johns Hopkins University, director of Emergency General Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and vice chair of Clinical Operations.
Julie Ann Freischlag (born 1955) is an American vascular surgeon and current CEO of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.She was the first female surgeon-in-chief of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the first female chief of vascular surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Mark Hopkins Jr. (September 3, 1814 – March 29, 1878) [1] was an American railroad executive. He was one of four principal investors that funded Theodore D. Judah's idea of building a railway over the Sierra Nevada from Sacramento, California to Promontory, Utah.
In 2009 he became the Chief of the Spine Section at the Barrow Neurological Institute and was appointed the Volker K.H. Sonntag Chair in 2015. In 2016 he became the second Donlin M. Long Professor of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Theodore also holds professorships in Orthopedics and Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins.
During his tenure at Johns Hopkins, his research focused on developing novel measures of peripheral nerve disease and sensitive outcome measures for clinical trials. [3] He was the lead author of a study in 2014 which found that patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy have trouble on stairs, which can be aided by exercise. [ 4 ]
Johns Hopkins University Peter C. Rowe is a physician and academic. A leading researcher in chronic fatigue syndrome , he is Professor of Pediatrics, Sunshine Natural Wellbeing Foundation Professor of Chronic Fatigue and Related Disorders, and Director of the Children's Center Chronic Fatigue Clinic at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine .
