In 1875 tracks for the Southern Railway were completed and Somerset saw a population growth and an increase in industry. [4] In the late 1930s and early 1940s, library services were provided by the pack horse library. [5] [6] The completion of Lake Cumberland in 1950 transformed Somerset from a sleepy rural community into a recreation center.
Born on January 1, 1897, in An Giang Province, Diep was ordained in 1924 after completing his studies at Phnom Penh Major Seminary in Cambodia. During the Republic of Vietnam, it was the site of Sa Đéc Base in 1966 and 1967, an American PBR (Patrol Boat, River) base during the Vietnam War. Later on, it became a Swift Boat base. Before the nineteenth century, it was the capital of Đông Khẩu Đạo, and it was known as one of the largest cities in the Mekong Delta.

Diên Khánh is a rural district (huyện) of Khánh Hòa province in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam. Diên Khánh is one of the oldest citadels in the south of Vietnam and it is one of the precious vestiges for studying ancient citadels. As of 2003 the district had a population of 134,118. [1] The district covers an area of 513 km².
