Wyoming is a state in the Western United States. According to the 2020 United States Census, Wyoming is the least populous state with 576,851 inhabitants but the 9th largest by land area spanning 97,093.14 square miles (251,470.1 km 2) of land. [1] Wyoming has 23 counties and 99 municipalities consisting of cities and towns. [1]
The Town of Wright was incorporated in 1985, making it one of Wyoming's newest municipalities with a rich history. By 1990, Wright was a well-established community with a population of 1,236 people. [7] On August 12, 2005, an F2 rated tornado struck a mobile home park at Wright, destroying 91 homes, damaging others, and killing two people.
Torrington is a city in and the county seat of Goshen County, Wyoming, United States. [5] The population was 6,119 at the 2020 census, down from 6,501 at the 2010 census.. It is the home of Eastern Wyoming College, and is the surrounding region's center of commercial activity.
The Wyoming Department of Corrections Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp & Boot Camp is located in Newcastle. [10] [11] The facility was operated by the Wyoming Board of Charities and Reform until that agency was dissolved as a result of a state constitutional amendment passed in November 1990.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 9,266 square miles (24,000 km 2), of which 9,184 square miles (23,790 km 2) is land and 82 square miles (210 km 2) (0.9%) is water. [6] It is the second-largest county by area in Wyoming, as well as in the six Rocky Mountain States.
