Heath Freeman (June 23, 1980 – November 14, 2021) was an American actor. He was known for playing the role of Gavin Dillon in the American legal drama television series Raising the Bar, [1] as well as roles on Bones (as the serial killer Howard Epps), NCIS, and Skateland.
With series lead Mark Harmon's departure from the show in the fall of 2021 (Season 19), McCallum became the last remaining member of the original NCIS cast until his death in 2023. The Season 21 episode, "The Stories We Leave Behind", is a posthumous tribute to both McCallum and to Dr. Mallard.
