Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be composed of random and abstract lines or shapes, generally without ever lifting the drawing device from the paper, in which case it is usually called a scribble.
The actual subject of the Doodle is buried some way into the entry. Since being able to scan by date is still important, the subject of the Doodle can't go right at the beginning, but I think a better format would be The [Month day, year] Doodle celebrated X . . . This is less wordy and mentions the featured person sooner.
