The American School of Dubai (ASD) is an independent, not-for-profit, U.S. curriculum, Early Learning through Grade 12 international school offering an American education. The school was founded in 1966 and was previously known as the Jumeirah American School (JAS) , is now located in the Al-Barsha community of Dubai , United Arab Emirates .
The school has three campuses. The Junior School at Al Garhoud accommodates Pre-Primary classes (girls and boys KG1–Grade 4). The Senior School in Oud Metha includes girls' Grades 5 to 12, who commence in the early morning shift (7:00 am to 1:50 pm), boys' Grades 5 to 12, who commence in the late morning shift (9:10 am to 3:50 pm).
The British and Indian curricula alone account for 64% of all enrollment in Dubai-based private schools. [8] Tuition at these private schools range from AED 1,725 to AED 107,200 per year, [9] and Dubai's annual revenue from private schooling fees is AED 5.35bn. 39% of students pay less than AED 10,000 in tuition per year.
