Abbey Road is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 26 September 1969, by Apple Records.It is the last album the group recorded, [2] although Let It Be (1970) was the last album completed before the band's break-up in April 1970. [3]

In September, the release was pushed back to December, because the Beatles had just recorded Abbey Road and wanted to issue that album instead. On 20 September, six days before Abbey Road was released, Lennon told McCartney, Starr, and business manager Allen Klein (Harrison was not present) that he "wanted a divorce" from the group. [56]
The album was recorded largely at Abbey Road Studios. The Beatles was recorded between 30 May and 14 October 1968, largely at Abbey Road Studios in London, with some sessions at Trident Studios. [23] Their time in Rishikesh was soon forgotten in the tense atmosphere of the studio, with sessions occurring at irregular hours. [24]

The group recorded one more album, Abbey Road, for which work started the following month, but in September 1969 Lennon left the band.
