Milford is the only station on the New Haven Line with only three tracks. [2] [3]: 23 The Northeast Corridor Commission identified restoring the fourth track in Milford as a priority in a 2021 report. [4] The station has 676 parking spaces, 444 of which are owned by the state. [5]
CT Rail Hartford Line tickets are accepted on the Amtrak Hartford Line, and vice versa; however, the Vermonter inter-city service does not participate despite running along the same route. This line is a joint venture between the Connecticut Department of Transportation and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). [ 7 ]
Several parking lots on both sides of the tracks serve the station with a total of 860 spaces. [5] The state owns the parking lots nearest the Post Road and on the west (south) side of the tracks between the Post Road and Leroy Avenue (with 195 spaces [6]). The town owns the "Leroy West" parking lot west of Leroy Avenue (toward New York City).
A parking lot is located at the west side of the station off Hope Street. [8] Station parking is controlled by Stamford city government, which owns most of the parking lot. [7] The state owns a much smaller parking area at the south end of the station. [8] The parking lot has landscaping and a "period pedestal clock". [8]
Unlike most stations on the line, Greenwich station is owned and maintained by multiple agencies and organizations. The State of Connecticut owns the station's platforms, Metro-North maintains the platforms, but the station building and parking facilities are privately owned.
