Age of Empires Definitive Editions are updated remakes, not the original. The original disc based AOE & AOE2 both have issues that need fixing when running on Win10 as well. Original disc based AOE3 runs on Win10 without any issues.
Unable to download Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. Hi, I bought 2 years ago the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition from the store on a sale since it was pretty cheap and I wanted to play it some day. Now that I come back to install it and sit to play it the Microsoft Store is asking me to buy it or purchase Game Pass.

Replied on August 16, 2019. Report abuse. AOE 2 had issues even on Win7, but the first thing you need with a CD version of the game on Win10 is a --- noCD fix\hack---. Once you are able to launch the game using a noCD fix you should be able to find a fix for any other problems that may arise.

I would do but Microsoft have put the end of December 2018 as the release date for the next instalment of Age of Empires. I signed up for the Beta program for the AOE and as such thought I would re-install AOE 3 on my new PC with Windows 10.

I was thinking this, but wasn't sure as I tend to download patches and fixes before. installing, only to find that occasionally my later release version of a game is already patched, and sometimes 'fixed' as well. In this case I had a noCD for the main game, but I just now moved the original age.exe back in and the game
