After this recording failed commercially, it was recorded by Elvis Presley with the producer Chips Moman. Presley's version reached No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, his 18th and final no. 1 single on that chart.
The single "Suspicious Minds" was certified Gold by RIAA for sales in 1 million copies in the United States on October 28, 1969. On March 27, 1992, it was certified Platinum. [ 12 ] It also was the South African single of the year.
In the United Kingdom this has only ever been released as the double LP set, keeping the integrity of the original project. Elvis Presley , looking for a song with which to relaunch his career, had "Suspicious Minds" played to him by Moman [ 10 ] and recorded a version in 1969 with an almost identical arrangement. [ 11 ]
