Rhiwbina (/ r u ˈ b aɪ n ə /; Welsh: Rhiwbeina [r̥ɪuˈbɛina], also Rhiwbina) is a suburb and community in the north of Cardiff, the capital of Wales.Formerly a small hamlet within the parish of Whitchurch, Rhiwbina was developed throughout the twentieth century, and is now a separate ward.
It is situated 5 miles (8 km) north of Cardiff city centre and 7 miles (11 km) south of Pontypridd. The surrounding towns and villages are Pentyrch and Radyr to the west, Taffs Well and Caerphilly to the north, and Rhiwbina and Whitchurch to the south. Tongwynlais became part of Cardiff in 1974 when Cardiff was expanded northwestwards.
Riverside (Welsh: Glan yr Afon) is an inner-city area and community of Cardiff, Wales, next to the River Taff. Riverside is also the name of the electoral ward, which includes the district of Pontcanna, to the north. The population of the community in 2011 was 13,771.
