Lagos state is made up of five administrative divisions, namely, Ikorodu, Ikeja, Epe, Badagry, and Lagos Island, with Ikeja being the Capital. The five divisions consist of a total of 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). [1] [2] [3]

Government College Ikorodu was established on 21 September 1974, as a co-educational secondary school with an initial intake of about 200 students. These students were transferred from other secondary schools in Lagos state from where they were seconded based on the common entrance examination applications that year.
