Shadows was a series of horror anthologies edited by Charles L. Grant, published by Doubleday from 1978 to 1991. Grant, a proponent of "quiet horror", initiated the series in order to offer readers a showcase of this kind of fiction.
Shadows is a British supernatural television anthology series produced by Thames Television for ITV between 1975 and 1978. Extending over three series, it featured ghost and horror dramas for children. Notable writers for the series included J. B. Priestley, Fay Weldon, PJ Hammond, Joan Aiken, Jacquetta Hawkes and Penelope Lively.
In 1984, Mysterious Press published The Shadow and the Golden Master, a hardcover anthology that reprinted the first two appearances of Shiwan Khan, "The Golden Master" (#182) and "Shiwan Khan Returns" (#187). Dover Books would later reprint this same content in paperback.
Grant also edited the award-winning Shadows anthology se, running eleven volumes from 1978 to 1991. Contributors include Stephen King, Ramsey Campbell, Al Sarrantonio, R. A. Lafferty, Avram Davidson, and Steve Rasnic Tem and Melanie Tem.
