Campbell attended Mundelein High School and played club soccer for the Chicago Sockers, before going on to play college soccer at Virginia Tech.He started in 19 games for the Hokies during his freshman season in 2006, finishing the season with one goal and seven assists and being named to the All-ACC Freshman team.

The League For Clubs is a new American men's amateur soccer league. Formed in 2024, the League For Clubs is a partnership between the Women's Premier Soccer League and existing men's clubs. The league plans to be affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). The inaugural season will begin in spring/summer 2025. [1]
