The Debaters is a Canadian radio comedy show currently hosted by Steve Patterson. [1] It airs on CBC Radio One , Saturdays at 3:00PM (PDT) and Wednesdays at 11:30AM, Eastern Time . During each episode, two debates take place between two sets of two contestants.
This is a list of episodes from season ten of The Debaters on CBC Radio. All season ten episodes were hosted by Steve Patterson. At the close of season ten, a total of 327 episodes (plus four extended debates) had aired. Season 10 is the first season broken into two parts by CBC. All subsequent seasons have also been split into two parts.
Tickets are sold to the general public, and sell out shortly after being made available. A poll is taken from the audience both before and after each debate. The winner of the debate is determined by how many people are persuaded to move from one opinion side to the other. The debates have been broadcast on CBC Radio's Ideas as well as CPAC.
In September 2007, Patterson became a host of CBC Radio One's The Debaters, [3] [6] and gained some notoriety in 2007 as being the first comic to say no to Last Comic Standing when he qualified for their Canadian finals in Montreal. [6] He turned down NBC to honour a local show commitment. [6]
