ChicagoFest was a Chicago music festival established in 1978 by Mayor Michael Bilandic.It was a two-week event held annually at Navy Pier that featured sixteen separate stages, each sponsored by a national retail brand and a media sponsor compatible to the stage's format, e.g. Rock WLUP, Chicago Tribune Jazz, Miller Brewing Company Blues and WXRT, that broadcast live from the festival.

Rex is an American indie rock band formed in 1994 (though an early version of the band was formed in 1991). Rex was considered one of the most important and influential slowcore bands [ 1 ] [ 2 ] and released three albums and one EP on Southern Records , as well as a collaboration with Red Red Meat (under the name Loftus ) on Perishable Records .
Jason Randolph Scheff (born April 16, 1962) is an American bassist, singer, and songwriter who was a frontman for the American rock band Chicago from 1985 to 2016. [1] Replacing former lead vocalist Peter Cetera , Scheff was the longest-serving bassist/vocalist of Chicago.
The group formed when Danny Black (then called Danny McDonough) met Gina Black. Danny had previously played with a psychedelic hard rock band called 'Cornmother'. The band made its first live performance in 1995. They signed to Bloodshot Records two years later and released their first album, Dolly Horrorshow, in 1998.
