Headquartered on Columbus Avenue and West 66th Street in Manhattan, ABC is the fifth-oldest major broadcasting network in the world. The network began its TV operations in 1948.
ABC also acquired the rights to NBA Inside Stuff through the network's acquisition of broadcast television rights to the NBA from NBC (where the series originally premiered in 1992), which aired alongside the ABC Kids block during the 2002–03 and 2003–04 seasons, before being replaced by NBA Access for the 2004–05 season.
Prior to early 2009, there was a brand called ABC Kids (stylised as ab c kids) which was separate from regular ABC Television/ABC1 and ABC2, containing all children's programming on the ABC. On 7 March 2005, ABC2 launched allowing for ABC Kids' programming to be broadcast for 13 hours a day across ABC1 and ABC2.
