Queensland Lions Football Club, known as Lions FC, is a soccer club based in Brisbane, Australia. Founded in 1957 as Hollandia Inala Soccer Club , the club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Queensland .
The club was established as MALEX in 1995 by Maccabi Association London who were seeking a new challenge beyond Sunday league football. [1] The new club joined Division One of the Hertfordshire Senior County League. [2] In 1999 they were renamed London Lions, [2] but remained an all-Jewish club. [1]
In 1991 the club progressed to the South Queensland Australian Football League and would play against suburban clubs of the greater Brisbane area. The club became Bears and adopted the Brisbane Bears' uniform in 1992. The club was very competitive during the 1990s and were runners up several times. In 1999 the club won its first senior premiership.
