Het Laatste Nieuws (HLN; Dutch pronunciation: [ət ˌlaːtstə ˈnius]; in English The Latest News) is a Dutch-language newspaper based in Antwerp, Belgium. It was founded by Julius Hoste Sr. on 7 June 1888. It is now part of DPG Media, [2] and is the most popular newspaper in Flanders and Belgium.
In 1987 the Van Thillo family, already the publishers of magazines Joepie (1973) and Dag Allemaal (1984), obtained 66 percent of shares in the Flemish publishing company Hoste NV, publisher of newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws and magazine Blik. In 1990 the rest of the shares were acquired and the company's name was changed to De Persgroep.

Programmes come live from The Hague when the parliament is in session. When the parliament was not in session the NPO Politiek en Nieuws channel became NPO Sport, broadcasting sporting events or news and current affairs, supplied by the NOS. On 15 December 2021, NPO Nieuws merged with NPO Politiek to make the present name of this channel. [1]
In the beginning, the channel only focused on youth, this changed in 1990 when an agreement was made with Joop van den Ende – whose own commercial channel TV10 failed due to the same law – and the name of the channel was changed into RTL 4. In 1993 a second channel was created named RTL 5. [1]
