Strontium chloride (SrCl 2) is a salt of strontium and chloride. It is a 'typical' salt, forming neutral aqueous solutions. As with all compounds of strontium, this salt emits a bright red colour in flame, and is commonly used in fireworks to that effect.

The following chart shows the solubility of various ionic compounds in water at 1 atm pressure and room temperature (approx. 25 °C, 298.15 K). "Soluble" means the ionic compound doesn't precipitate, while "slightly soluble" and "insoluble" mean that a solid will precipitate; "slightly soluble" compounds like calcium sulfate may require heat to precipitate.
Strontium carbonate is used in the manufacturing of hard ferrite magnets. [71] [72] Strontium chloride is sometimes used in toothpastes for sensitive teeth. One popular brand includes 10% total strontium chloride hexahydrate by weight. [73] Small amounts are used in the refining of zinc to remove small amounts of lead impurities. [11]
Strontium hydroxide, Sr(OH) 2, is a caustic alkali composed of one strontium ion and two hydroxide ions. It is synthesized by combining a strontium salt with a strong base . Sr(OH) 2 exists in anhydrous , monohydrate , or octahydrate form.

More than two-thirds of retirees wish they had saved more and on a consistent basis — and half wish they hadn’t waited so long to focus on it, according to a new report.
A metal ion in aqueous solution or aqua ion is a cation, dissolved in water, of chemical formula [M(H 2 O) n] z+.The solvation number, n, determined by a variety of experimental methods is 4 for Li + and Be 2+ and 6 for most elements in periods 3 and 4 of the periodic table.
