The Celtic Tenors is an Irish trio of tenor singers. The trio comprising Matthew Gilsenan, James Nelson, and Daryl Simpson. Known for their signature harmony-rich style, they blend opera, classical, Irish traditional, and pop influences. The group was formed in 1999 by Matthew Gilsenan, James Nelson, and Niall Morris.
She has also made appearances on CBS Morning News, Fox Morning TV, and The Late Late Show. On 1 October 2006, Shannon released her solo album, simply entitled Deirdre Shannon. Playing the role of the Gentlewoman, Shannon also sings "Harry's Game" as well as other songs in Celtic Thunder: Storm which was released on CD and DVD on 20 September 2011.

Daniel Harte and Bill Hughes formed the idea of a trio of Irish tenors during the Cannes film festival. [when?] Harte and Hughes wanted to produce a television special and first approached Ireland's Finbar Wright (one of Ireland's leading romantic tenors) in 1998 to join the group, but Wright's recording contract with Sony BMG prohibited such a venture.
