qBittorrent is a cross-platform free and open-source BitTorrent client written in native C++. It relies on Boost , OpenSSL , zlib , Qt 6 toolkit and the libtorrent -rasterbar library (for the torrent back-end), with an optional search engine written in Python .
The BitTorrent client enables a user to search for and download torrent files using a built-in search box ("Search for torrents") in the main window, which opens the BitTorrent torrent search engine page with the search results in the user's default web browser. The current client includes a range of features, including multiple parallel downloads.
A later version of the software has, instead of ads, a "search all sites" feature, which is a keyword-based search bar that delivers listings of torrent files at different trackers. A frame at the top displays advertisements (server-side) in the browser when the search function is used. In version 1.5, no ads are present in the program itself.
