Cletus Cortland Kasady is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.Created by writer David Michelinie and artist Erik Larsen, the character first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #344 (March 1991) as the first and most infamous host of the Carnage symbiote, an offspring of Venom.
Carnage endows Cletus Kasady with physical strength greater than that of Spider-Man and the Venom symbiote combined [28] and shape-shifting abilities, allows it to project a web-like substance from any part of his body including the formation of weapons, and enables it to plant thoughts into a person's head using a symbiote tendril. However, the symbiote mutated his blood before its destruction, enabling Kasady to reconstitute the symbiote and break out. “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” sees Tom Hardy as the symbiote alien returning as Eddie At the end of 2018’s “Venom,” audiences saw serial killer Cletus Kasady’s execution go wrong ...
In the film, Eddie and the alien symbiote Venom must face serial killer Cletus Kasady (Harrelson) after he becomes the host of an offshoot of Venom named Carnage. Venom was intended by Sony Pictures to be the start of a new shared universe, and plans for a sequel began during production on the first film.
The Venom symbiote leaves Eddie and engulfs Bruce Banner. As Dark Carnage stabs Bruce during the bonding process, he is transformed into a venomized version of Hulk whose punch nearly separates the Grendel symbiote from Cletus Kasady. It was also noted that the Venom symbiote couldn't cover all of Hulk as he introduces himself to Dark Carnage. [6]
The symbiote would occasionally be separated from Cletus and bond to other hosts, such as Ben Reilly and Karl Malus, only to be reunited with Kasady again. Some time later Cletus was separated from Carnage and Norman Osborn was bonded to the Carnage symbiote to defeat Spider-Man.
