The house was built with native stone. The house is next door to the Mohave County Court House. Mr. Wright was a civil engineer and contractor, who help in building the Mohave County Court House 1914–15. He owned the house until his death in 1944. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Mohave County occupies the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Arizona. As of the 2020 census, its population was 213,267. [1] The county seat is Kingman, [2] and the largest city is Lake Havasu City. It is the fifth largest county in the United States (by area).
Four counties (Mohave, Pima, Yavapai and Yuma) were created in 1864 following the organization of the Arizona Territory in 1862. The now defunct Pah-Ute County was split from Mohave County in 1865, but merged back in 1871. All but La Paz County were created by the time Arizona was granted statehood in 1912.
The house was built by R. E. Householder. Mr. Householder was a mining engineer who owned his own business of civil and mining engineering from 1919 to 1940. During the 1930s, he was the Mohave County Engineer. He did serve in the Arizona Legislature. [citation needed]
