Louise Gerrish (born 1948 in Melrose, MA) is a former nationally renowned track and field athlete.. During the mid-1960s, Gerrish lived in Livonia, Michigan and was a high school All-American and one of the best javelin throwers in the United States; even though the javelin throw is not an official Michigan High School Athletic Association event.
He taught in the Knoxville City Schools at Central High School in Knoxville, TN and coached boys' and girls' cross country and track. He won the USA National Championships in the javelin at UCLA in 1978 and was named "Javelin Thrower of the Decade" (the 1970s) in the United States by Track and Field News. His career best was 283'2".
