The Nitro name, which finally stuck, was a reference to WCW Monday Nitro, the flagship show of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) for which Bischoff had previously worked, using the Nitro theme as his ring entrance music. [29] Nitro acted as Bischoff's apprentice and assistant until June, when he was sent back to OVW.
A VHS of the Nitro performance was later released. The song also became Goldberg's temporary entrance theme and was used in a video montage of his in-ring performances. This shortened version was included on WCW Mayhem: The Music along with his previous theme, "Invasion."

"Rap is Crap (I Hate Rap)" was written by Jimmy Hart and Howard Helm, and was released on the album WCW Mayhem: The Music. The group's original theme song, "Good Ol' Boys", was based on Jeff Jarrett's theme song in the mid-1990s. Jimmy Hart's version modifies the verse "wrestling every week on TV" to watching "the Grand Ole Opry every week on TV".
