Xinxiang Medical University (Chinese: 新乡医学院) is located at Xinxiang city in the northern part of Henan province of China. The origin of the school can be traced back to the western medicine clinic opened by Dr. Luo Weiling in 1896 in the ancient city of Weihui, and medical education began in 1922 at the Huimin Hospital Nursing School. The university was founded by incorporating the Traditional Chinese Medicine College of Xinjiang Medical University with the Xinjiang Medical College. Before incorporation, Xinjiang Medical College was amongst 156 key projects aided by the former Soviet Union during the First Five-Year Plan and began recruiting new students in 1956. [ 2 ]
Currently, Dow International Medical College admits up to 150 M.B.B.S. students per year. DIMC follows the semester system as per the directives of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. An integrated modular curriculum has been adopted by Dow University of Health Sciences since 2009. The DIMC is included in WHO directory and IMED-FAIMER.
It offers MBBS and BDS programs at undergraduate level which are accredited by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. KMDC also offers postgraduate specialties in medicine and dentistry in affiliation with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and University of Karachi. [3]

It is a national key comprehensive university with students from various ethnic groups. It is one of two in Xinjiang entering the national “211 Project.” On December 30, 2000, the former Xinjiang University and Xinjiang Engineering Institute merged into a new Xinjiang University. In the past 78 years, it has seen 65,000 students graduate.
