House of Blues is an American chain of live music concert halls and restaurants. It was founded by Isaac Tigrett , the co-founder of Hard Rock Cafe , and Dan Aykroyd , co-star of the 1980 film The Blues Brothers . [ 1 ]

It is a recording of the band's performance at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on 31 October 1999 during their world tour supporting their eighteenth studio album The Ladder. [5] By the time of the album's release, guitarist Billy Sherwood and keyboardist Igor Khoroshev were already out of the band, reducing Yes to a four-piece.
It featured live music and was fronted by a rotation of celebrity hosts. The show was produced by Michael Murphy Productions in conjunction with the House of Blues franchise, and was filmed at their Los Angeles location. [1] The program ended its run in 1996. Blues Brothers and Friends: Live from Chicago's House of Blues is the eleventh album and fourth live album by The Blues Brothers in 1997. It was recorded at the opening of the House of Blues in Chicago and is the first recording to feature James Belushi , performing under the name "Zee Blues".
The album spans two CDs and includes a DVD featuring live footage and an exclusive interview in which the band answers fan-submitted questions. [5] The track listing consists of songs from 2002's The Illusion of Safety through 2008's The Alchemy Index Vols. III & IV. The live footage was filmed at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.
The album reached a peak position of number one on Billboard 's Top Blues Albums chart.
