The English Greyhound Derby is the most prestigious race on the British greyhound racing calendar, with a history stretching back to 1927. It was first held at White City Stadium , but moved to Wimbledon Stadium in 1985, and then Towcester Greyhound Stadium in 2017, Nottingham in 2019 and back to Towcester in 2021.
The 2022 Star Sports Greyhound Derby took place during May and June 2022, with the final being held on 25 June 2022 at Towcester Greyhound Stadium. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It was the fourth time that the event was held at Towcester after previously being run there in 2017, 2018 and 2021.

The Kent Derby is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Central Park Stadium. It was inaugurated in 2000. [1] The event is currently a category one race. [2] In 2022, the first prize was increased to £20,000 following sponsorship from Premier Greyhound Racing. [3]

The event was inaugurated in 1947, when the stadium ran under independent rules. It continued to be a major race on the independent calendar before the stadium switched to National Greyhound Racing Club status. Newinn Taylor was later voted Irish Greyhound of the Year. In 2022, he won the Kirby Memorial Stakes with Swords Rex and again in 2023 with Clonbrien Treaty [17] before Romeo Magico, a black and white dog won the 2022 English Greyhound Derby and the first prize of £175,000.
