This chapel took over 2 years to complete construction and in August 2008 was consecrated by John Jeremiah McRaith, and opened to the public.

In 1987, Phillips Graduate Seminary incorporated as a freestanding institution independent of Phillips University. The board of trustees voted to change the name to Phillips Theological Seminary in 1995.
