Lightolier is a company that manufactures and sells a wide array of lighting fixtures. It was founded in 1904 by Bernhard Blitzer under the name of New York Gas and Appliance Co. When electric lighting started to be more widely accepted, the name was changed to Lightolier , a contraction of the words light and chandelier .
Philips Hue is a line of color-changing LED lamps and white bulbs which can be controlled wirelessly. The Philips Hue line of bulbs was the first smart bulb of its kind on the market. [ 3 ] The lamps are currently created and manufactured by Signify N.V. , formerly the Philips Lighting division of Royal Philips N.V. [ 1 ] [ 4 ]
Genlyte was bought out by Royal Philips Lighting on January 18, 2008. [1] Since the completing the acquisition of the Genlyte Group, the individual lighting companies were reorganized by Philips into the Philips Lighting Business Unit - Professional Luminaires North America, headquartered in Burlington, MA.
