"Shady Grove" (Roud 4456) [1] is a traditional Appalachian folk song, [2] believed to have originated in eastern Kentucky around the beginning the 20th century. [3] The song was popular among old-time musicians of the Cumberlands before being widely adopted in the bluegrass repertoire. [ 4 ]
Cumming is a municipal corporation; since 1845 it has been governed by a mayor and a five-member city council. The mayor and council members serve staggered four-year terms. On December 22, 1834, Cumming was officially incorporated and five councilmen were appointed: John Jolly, William Martin, Daniel McCoy, John H. Russell, and Daniel Smith.
Shady Grove Park housed several rides and attractions, including a roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, a funhouse called "House of Mirth", a theater, a shooting gallery, a photo gallery, a restaurant, and two large dance halls. The roller coaster, Wildcat, opened in 1925, and was a large wooden coaster that spanned the entire length of the property.
Shady Dale is located in northeastern Jasper County at (33.399562, -83.589937 Georgia State Routes 83 and 142 intersect in the center of town. GA 83 leads northeast 17 miles (27 km) to Madison and southwest 8 miles (13 km) to Monticello, the Jasper county seat, while GA 142 leads northwest 11 miles (18 km) to Newborn and southeast 9 miles (14 km) to Willard.

His followers began moving in from their former headquarters in Sullivan County, New York [ 3 ] (some had moved there in the late 1980s) and Brooklyn.
