Michelin (/ ˈ m ɪ ʃ É™l ɪ n, ˈ m ɪ tʃ É™l ɪ n / MISH-É™l-in, MITCH-É™l-in, French:), in full Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin SCA ("General Company of the Michelin Enterprises P.L.S."), is a French multinational tyre manufacturing company based in Clermont-Ferrand in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes région of France.
The Michelin TRX, (and the related TDX), is a radial tire introduced by the Michelin Group in 1975. It is one of the first volume-produced low-profile tires. Although technologically advanced, and reasonably successful, the tire's requirement for a non-standard rim ultimately condemned it to a relatively short commercial life.
The longer "month" may be set as the first (5–4–4), second (4–5–4), or third (4–4–5) unit. Its major advantage over a regular calendar is that each period is the same length and ends on the same day of the week, which is useful for planning manufacturing or work shifts.
