A Dickens fair (also Dickensian evening, Dickens Christmas fair, Dickens fête, or Dickens festival) is a weekend or multi-day gathering open to the public that attempts to recreate a Victorian English setting reminiscent of the novels of Charles Dickens. Events may be outdoor, indoor or a combination of the two.

Dickens on the Strand is an annual Christmas festival organized by the Galveston Historical Foundation in Galveston, Texas occurring the first weekend in December. It was widely believed that the poem wasn't written by Dickinson, but by Charles Dickens, with the poem found in the late author's desk. When Dickinson published The Children and Other Verses in 1889, it included a letter from Dickens' son Charles Dickens, Jr. where he insisted the poem was written by Dickinson and not his father. [3]
