The Lady Techster Softball Complex was home to Louisiana Tech Softball from 1982 until April 25, 2019 when an EF3 tornado destroyed the facility along with a number of other athletic complexes. During the course of the Lady Techsters’ 38-year history of playing at the facility, Tech posted an overall mark of 466-234, including 26 winning seasons.
After defying the odds in the regular season, two straight losses in the conference tournament caps off the 2022 season for Louisiana Tech softball.
Louisiana Tech is one of the few women's basketball programs to win at least 1,000 games, and have they have made 27 total appearances in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. Standout former Tech players include Teresa Weatherspoon (later a Lady Techsters head coach), Venus Lacy , and Karl Malone's daughter Cheryl Ford , among others.
On June 7, 2021, Taylor was announced as the new head coach of the Louisiana Tech softball program. [4] [5] On June 8, 2022, Taylor signed a one-year extension with Louisiana Tech to keep him through 2027. [6]
