5 Centimeters per Second (Japanese: 秒速5センチメートル, Hepburn: Byōsoku Go Senchimētoru) is a 2007 Japanese romantic drama animated film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai. It theatrically premiered on 3 March 2007.
In September 2007, Nagano's leading newspaper, Shinano Mainichi Shinbun, released a TV commercial animated by Shinkai. Shinkai at the Otakon Anime Convention in 2011. Shinkai spent 2008 in London, resting since the completion of 5 Centimeters per Second [citation needed]. He returned to Japan in 2009 to start work on his next project.
It was later used as the ending theme song for the 2007 film 5 Centimeters per Second. As the song is played in a convenience store, the film's male lead, Takaki Tōno, recognizes it as a hit song since his junior high school. It was re-released on March 3 of that year under the label Nayutawave Records and reentered the chart at No. 52. [2]

Dareka no Manazashi (Japanese: だれかのまなざし, lit. ' Someone's Gaze ') is a Japanese anime short film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai.It was initially screened at the Tokyo International Forum on February 10, 2013, though it was also shown alongside Shinkai's film The Garden of Words during its Japanese premier on May 31, 2013.
Tenmon created the soundtracks for Shinkai's subsequent films, including Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, 5 Centimeters Per Second, and Children Who Chase Lost Voices. As of 2019, Tenmon worked at CoMix Wave Films, [1] but no further information is available about what he has done with them since.
