The term Hedebo embroidery covers several forms of white embroidery which originated in the Hedebo (heathland) region of Zealand, Denmark, in the 1760s. The varied techniques which evolved over the next hundred years in the farming community were subsequently developed by the middle classes until around 1820.

The Danish Clothing Workers' Union (Danish: Dansk Beklædningsarbejderforbund, DBF) was a trade union representing people in the garment industry in Denmark. The union was founded in 1895, and it soon joined the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). At the start of 1959, the Danish Hatters' and Furriers' Union merged in to the union.
