   The standard tables are typically for "alloy steel" and "carbon steel" studs and machine bolts.    Thanks for the response. However, I need clarification viz. the pipe flanges are standard ANSI B16.5 sus flanges and the operating temperatures are low circa zero deg. C. I would have thought that the stainless steel bolts and nuts should be able to take the required stresses for proper gasket seating and sealing under operation.

   Dec 11, 2003. 348. US. If your still wanting to use flanges, weld a 150# S.S. flange to the stainless and use a “Flange Adapter”” on the D.I. pipe. The adapter slides over the plain end of the D.I. and secures with set screws and seals with an O-Ring. The 125# adapter will mate with the 150# S.S. flange.
