Urdu literature (Urdu: ادبیاتِ اُردُو, “Adbiyāt-i Urdū”) comprises the literary works, written in the Urdu language.While it tends to be dominated by poetry, especially the verse forms of the ghazal (غزل) and nazm (نظم), it has expanded into other styles of writing, including that of the short story, or afsana (افسانہ).
Al-Qasim briefly resumed between 1925 and 1928, later replaced by the Monthly Darul Uloom, which began in 1941 and remains active. The seminary's first Arabic magazine, Da'watul Haq , was published between 1965 and 1975, followed by Al-Daie in 1976 and the quarterly Al-Nahdah al-Adabiyyah in 2019.
