Piute County (/ ˈ p aɪ juː t / PY-yoot) is a county in south-central Utah, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 1,438, [1] making it the second-least populous county in Utah. [2] The county seat is Junction, [3] and the largest town is Circleville.
Just over 75% of Utah's population is concentrated along four Wasatch Front counties: Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, and Weber. Salt Lake County was the largest county in the state with a population of 1,185,813, followed by Utah County with 719,174, Davis County with 373,207 and Weber County with 271,926.
The valley is bounded on the west and southwest by the Sevier Plateau, on the east by the Parker Range, and is connected to Plateau Valley to the north. [2]It is also the home of Otter Creek Reservoir (and its eponymous state park), and the towns of Angle, Greenwich, and Koosharem.
Thompsonville is an unincorporated community in Piute County, Utah, United States, located south-southeast of Marysvale.
