Sauganash Hotel (originally Eagle Exchange Tavern) was a hotel regarded as the first hotel in Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1831, the hotel was located at Wolf Point in the present-day Loop community area at the intersection of the north, south and main branches of the Chicago River .
The building was topped out in late 2008 and construction was completed in 2009. In 2024, following a six-year lawsuit, the Trump Tower's cooling water intake system was ruled to be in violation of state environmental laws that protect the Chicago River, which it overlooks, by creating and operating "a public nuisance in violation of Illinois law".
River North is a neighborhood in the Near North Side, Chicago located north of the Chicago River, south of Division Street, and west of Wabash Avenue.
