William L. Boyd Jr. (February 17, 1825 – October 31, 1888) was an American slave trader, real estate broker, and steamboat captain from Nashville, Tennessee. [1] Boyd was a prominent figure in the slave trade in Tennessee during the mid-19th century. He was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend in 1883.
