Arthur Warren "Kit" Murray (December 26, 1918 – July 25, 2011) [1] was a United States test pilot who flew test flights on the Bell X-1 and the Bell X-5 aircraft. He was the first pilot to see the curvature of the Earth and set an unofficial altitude record of more than 90,000 feet at over twice the speed of sound.
