Anhui Medical University (AHMU; Chinese: 安徽医科大学) is a provincial public medical university in Hefei, Anhui, China.It is affiliated with the Anhui Provincial Government, and co-sponsored by the Anhui Provincial Government, the Ministry of Education, and the National Health Commission.

The university inherited two Chinese medical traditions within the province. The first tradition originates from southern Anhui which is called Xin’an. The other tradition originates from northern Anhui and is called Huatuo. These traditions have formed the basis of the university's traditional Chinese medicine offerings. [1]

The school was founded in 1958, known as Wuhu Medical Vocational School. In 1970, it merged into Anhui Medical College and functioned as its branch in South Anhui. In 1974, with the approval of Ministry of Education, the school became an independent institution and was renamed Wannan Medical College (WNMC).
